Kadokawa guidebook

It is a member of a fairy tribe living in Northern Ireland. It can disappear by means of a jewel on its chest and does childish mischief to humans who come near it. Gems glisten in the darkness and appear when attacked.
北アイルランドに住む妖精族の一員で、胸の宝石によって姿を消し、近づく人間に子供のような悪さをする。闇の中で宝石がギラリと光り、攻撃されると姿を現す。

JICC guidebook

It's a tribe that usually disappears and cannot be seen. Barely, the center of its body appears to glow white. But, the young Kimu has a flashing body and is rather easy to spot. At first glance, he is a mischievous but quite vicious monster.
この部族は、普通は姿を消していて見ることができない。かろうじて体の中心部が白く光って見えるのみだ。だが若いキムは体が点滅しており、わりあい簡単に見つけることができる。一見いたずらっこだが、かなり悪質なモンスターだ。

Origin of the name / 名前の由来

Kimu's name comes from the Okinawan spirit "Kijimuna".
It was introduced as "Kimujinah" in the book "Yokai Nandemo Nyumon (Introduction to Yokai)" written by Shigeru Mizuki. This was the origin of the name.
キムの名前は沖縄の精霊「キジムナー」が由来。
水木しげる著「妖怪なんでも入門」で「キムジナー」と紹介されており。これが元になった。
